This marks the end of the second month of doing this daily, which is, about 57 days more than I thought I would be doing it. Anyway, I’m pleased with the results overall, even if most of it is crap, its more crap than I would have put out otherwise.
In short term planning, I would like to finish up that drawing by the end of march, and switch over and give scriptfrenzy a try in april (script frenzy is like nanowrimo, but for screen plays or something). I have no idea how to write anything like that, and all the fiction I have written has very little in the way of dialogue, mostly because all the characters I come up with are just asocial reprobates. Whatever. It would be nice to have that piece out of the way, so I can just shift gears into that, but who knows. Maybe something better will come along.
I did a handful of wtgf’s today, with one of them (suggested by inlandempirical) actually came out pretty well, should be called teamwork pt II, but i dont think it is.

going away for a friend, and just some wtgfs.
Feeling ill today, so im not really giving it my all. Check wtgf.
Dug into a large photo archive I found online randomly, so i spent some timer, err… mirroring it (sorry, not showing details). And did several wtgf contributions.

Still got a ways to go, at this rate I figure it will be done sometime next month.
Also, trying out F.lux its a bit jarring at first, but I have adjusted to it pretty quickly. Give it a shot if you spend too much time late at night staring at a monitor. And no, it is not the same as what your macbook does with screen dimming in the evening.

There is always an odd feeling for me, walking around a city at night, especially in the winter when night comes early. Even in a well lit city, putting things in to silhouettes seems to make things seem shadier. Suddenly you are surrounded by sketchy looking bastards on bikes and overwheight middle-aged dwarfs eyeing each passing bucket of takeout. People that are dressed better than me look like they are trying to score drugs and people more shabby are on the verge of some kind of bum fight. The human condition to be part of a group plays out, and the people who seem to live on the street want to protect their little slice of space visciously, even as they stumble into the door of their cheap motels. Raw, unfettered humanity in america lives right under the city-dwellers upturned noses, but instead they squnader their savings to fly to a poorer place where the rum is cheaper.
And the weather is nicer.
There aren’t really any nice places for people to live on the street because everyone else is there. Plus the drugs and prostitution and all the other shit that goes along with an anything-goes survival style. But past all the brightly lit streets and warm padlocked apartments, there is an undercurrent of squatting and tweeking and unending survitude to just staying alive. On the borders it blends, the stench of gentrification can move in, but between the french fusion restaurants and tea shops there are bars whose clienele blend into the street folks and they seem interchangeable. Osmosis, the street to collect, the bar to drink and back to the street for some conversation or a lead on the next thing.
No real point to any of it, just wading through the crazies going to the falafel shop.
