Ill get back to actually doing stuff and posting and not being constantly behind. I did have a pretty major burnout mid-summer and I’m still playing catchup, but nanowrimo is just around the corner, so I need to start plotting stuff for that, and getting back in the habit.
For now, im going to get sushi, or something. September shall be the rebirth!
Between birthday, and a long weekend at a graduation I have fallen behind again. The motivation is not completely gone, but since I broke the habit, its been hard to get back on the horse. Its actually a bit more despondent than the original feeling back in january. I have, of course, been doing bits here and there, but just not particularly good at posting about them. There has been a bit of hackery pointed at the roguelike stuff (actually made some progress, that ill update), and of course working more and more with python, which i’m starting to like, partly since its unaffiliated with any of the nonsense that i am doing at my work (though I’m getting better at the integrating pieces.
I’ve been told that the rules of betting on craps are almost impossible to explain. This made me wonder what the rules of craps actually are.
From a technical standpoint, they can’t be that difficult, there are only 15 inputs. Of course it matters what the earlier state is (and that is indefinite), but each roll either passes or fails, and if it passes or fails is directly determined by the state of the last roll.
Now how indefinite that set is, I don’t know. For example, in the most degenerate state, a long stream of 9′s, say 1000, is there any logistical break?
The questions regarding the actual rules always came up short, I just don’t get the basics of the game. Fortunately, I found a youtube video that totally explains crapS.
[ warning ] this video is bullshit! i do not endorse it!
[ this is a complete bullshit scam, i do not endorse these scumbag shiteaters. ]
Obviously, I am still playing catchup. I have had a lot of busy days the last couple weeks or months, and just couldn’t keep up. This can feel disparaging, but having gone through a few nanowrimos and shitty work deadlines, I do know that its usually better to catch up than give up, so I am burning through and catching up. Consider it a mid-year vacation.
Naturally, I have been doing random side projects and what not, but also going to weddings, finishing the last damn Ace Attorney game (#5 Edgeworth). And thats fine. I was even ahead there for a couple days, but the important part is to keep going. The resolution was ambitious, and I have certainly got more than 30 minutes a day cumulative for this project, so whatever.
I’m still behind a week or so, but catching up. I’ve got a long commitment in mid-august, and again will not have easy computer access, but there are times in life that you do need to concentrate on things other than vanity projects.
Unless vanity projects pay the bills. This one doesn’t.
Anyway, scrubbing through some videos and trying to boil down some clips. More to come.
If it seems like there are a few missing post numbers in the fill-out from the weekend, its because they are marked private, and deal with something of a time-sensitive nature. I will make them public in the future. Otherwise, if you know me, contact me and you can see them, just for personal reasons I can’t make them public just yet (and yes, everything is fine).
This has officially passed the halfway mark of doing this every day. (A bit of slacking and backfill aside).
I’ve been feeling a bit of fatigue with it lately, but thats in part due to issues with some other pieces of life, and am trying to keep up with it all.
Generally, I have still been a bit constructive even if I havn’t quite caught up with it in the blog. Some of that has to do with just being a bit more busy at work (have to work with a couple of interns that has eaten up a bit of the work downtime I would use to make sure this was at least up to date.
Finding out the numbering was off was a bit disheartening too, since I was actually trying to get ahead on entries to try to improve the overall quality of stuff that I am submitting, as it is, I am back to treading water.
Regardless, I’m going to keep at it, haters suck it, etc.
