OMG! Gruber farted an opinion about apple!

I wonder if he thinks their new products and direction are the future of technology.

If anything, he might have been too hard on apple, in suggesting that they do something different than the exact thing that they did, because apple is flawless with marketing and product differentiation. And the iPad is _fast_.

I can’t wait for more footnotes from the revolution.

I think people went through my old comments and downvoted them to prove a point.

The point being that they are better entrepreneurs than me because they like apple, and have flagging privilege on an internet forum.

I have spent the last day or so with some rank abdomnal issues that seemed to have followed having a bowl of pho from a local vietnamese place. It was actually the first place I had been to that seemed to at least have a real pho menu, except that they got my order wrong and loaded the soup down with tendons (i can handle the meatballs, but just straight up tendon is a bit much for me).

Which is weird. Why aren’t there just any good normal asian restaurants? There are fancy ones, but most of those substitute authentic food for high prices and a bullshit attitude (18 dollar bowls of ramen, and we only make 6 a day). Places that specialize in japanese “bar food” serve shit that I have never heard of, or just plain old bastardizations.

Thai is another one, there are a lot of generic places, but nothing that is just reasonable and kickass, quite a bit of it is overpriced and substandard (though I have found one reasonable place).

Anyway, pointless gripes. If I lived in phoenix, i think I would understand it, but for a west coast city with a traditionally large asian population (older and more traditional than, say, seattle), it seems to have really missed the sweet spot.

Also, there is no mongoilian barbeque in the city of san francisco. The closest place is colma.

And there is such a thing as japanese food that is not sushi, and it sure as shit isn’t a chicken breast covered in teriyaki sauce.

(oh, and there are a couple decent places in j-town, but j-town itself is really small, maybe i should spend more time in the richmond area).

Had to deal with chasing a mouse out of my place tonight, so I was worried it was getting to late to do anything too productive. Then I remembered that I started a tumblr site with a friend earlier today based on some recent correspondence.

Tumblr, if you dont know, is the latest attempt at lowering the barrier to getting on the internet so people can upload photos and write and shit. Predictably, its kind of a mess, but less tween than, say, daily booth.

Well that ends today. And by today, I mean right now.

This new venture is an attempt to beautify the internet, to help people learn to laugh and love again in this society that has been crushing us with the endless burdens of this workaday life. With the cornerstones of morality and integrity, we find just a glimmer of hope and good will, and try to nurture it and give it a home so it can foster in the heart of humanity.

Naturally, tumblr is the only platform that could make this fevered ambition a reality.
